Skewb notation is one of the most difficult notations to learn out of notation for any puzzle. It is difficult because there are different types of Skewb notation. There is Fixed Corner Notation (FCN) which is used as the scrambling notation in official WCA competitions. And there is also the notation used in skewb algorithms. Here, you'll see both.
Fixed Corner Notation (FCN):
FCN is the notation used to scramble Skewb in official WCA competitions.
Put the White Green Red corner in the top front position. It will be fixed there through out the entire scramble (hence fixed corner notation). From this position, turning the bottom right corner clockwise is R & turning it counterclockwise is R'. Turning the bottom left corner clockwise is L & turning it counterclockwise is L'. Turning the top back corner clockwise is U & turning it counterclockwise is U'. Turning the bottom back corner clockwise is B & turning it counterclockwise is B'.
Example:
RU'L'RB'LRB'U'

Algorithm Notation:
Algorithm Notation is the notation that you will find used for most Skewb algorithms. You mainly find them in sheets since people usually don't use notation in video form. There is no standardized version of Algorithm Notation and it will vary from place to place. This is just the type that will be used throughout most of this website.
The top right corner is the R layer. A clockwise rotation on it is R while a counterclockwise rotation is R'. The bottom right corner is the r layer. A clockwise rotation on it is r while a counterclockwise rotation is r'. The top left corner is the L layer. A clockwise rotation on it is L while a counterclowckwise rotation is L'. The bottom left corner is the l layer. A clockwise rotation on it is l while a counterclockwise rotation it is l'. The top back corner is the B layer. A clockwise rotation on it is B while a counterclockwise rotation is B'. The bottom back corner is the b layer. A clockwise rotation on it is b while a counterclockwise rotation is b'. Most people will say "Big B" or "Little B" to differentiate between the capital and lowercase letters. Sledge and Hedge are also given special symbols. Sledge is S and Hedge is H. When there is a Sledge or Hedge cancellation, you write H or S then cancellation.
Sledge:

Hedge:

Sometimes, but not always, the top front corner is F. A clockwise rotation is F while a counterclockwise rotation is F'. And the bottom front corner is D. A clockwise rotation on it is D while a counterclockwise rotation is D'. Some people would also call D f.
